If your phone goes missing, you will know where it is.

My TheftGuard is an anti-theft app for your own Android phone. It keeps the phone's last location on your private dashboard, alerts you when someone tries to break in, and emails you photos when you press SOS.

Subscribe in the Android app through Google Play, then sign in here with the same email to see your phone on the map.

Three steps, then it works in the background.

Set it up once on your phone. After that you only open it when something goes wrong.

1

Install and sign in

Create an account, sign in on your phone and allow the permissions the app explains. A notice is always shown while it is active.

2

Something goes wrong

The phone is lost, someone enters the wrong PIN, or the SIM card is changed. Or you press SOS yourself.

3

You see it at once

Open the website or the app on any device. You see the phone's position, the alert log and the photos in your email.

What it does for you

Each feature does one job. There is nothing hidden and nothing you did not agree to.

Live location on a map

Open the website and the map follows your phone. The phone sends its position more often only while you are watching, so the battery is spared the rest of the time.

SOS in one move

Press the button in the notification, use the home-screen widget or the quick tile, or press volume down three times. You get an alert with the place and time.

Photos by email

After an SOS or a wrong unlock attempt, the phone takes a photo with the front and back camera and emails it to you. We do not keep the photos on our server.

Wrong PIN alerts

If someone enters the wrong screen-lock PIN or pattern, you are told with the time and place.

SIM change alert

A thief usually swaps the SIM card first. You are alerted as soon as that happens.

Lost mode

Mark the phone as lost on the website. It reports its position more often until you find it.

Only you can see your phone.

Location, alerts and photos go to the one account you signed up with, and to no one else.

  • No selling data. We never use your location, photos or email address for advertising.
  • One phone per account. Your account protects one phone, and one phone belongs to one account.
  • Sign-in code for new devices. Opening your account from another phone or browser needs a 6-digit code sent to your email.
  • Delete everything yourself. Delete your account and its data from the app, the website or the deletion page.
For your own phone only. My TheftGuard is built to find your own lost or stolen phone. It must not be installed on someone else's phone, and it cannot be hidden from the person who uses the phone.

Questions

Does it work if the thief switches the phone off?

No app can track a phone that is switched off or has no internet. You always see the last position the phone sent, with the time it was sent.

Does it drain my battery?

Location is updated when the phone moves and at regular intervals. The faster updates start only while you are looking at the live map or after you mark the phone as lost.

Can I protect more than one phone?

Each account protects one phone. For a second phone, create a second account with another email address.

Can I use it to track another person?

No. It is only for your own phone. The app always shows a notice while it is active and cannot be made invisible.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel at any time in the Google Play app (Payments & subscriptions), and your access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

Where do I get help?

See the Help page or write to support@mytheftguard.com and include the Device ID from your dashboard menu (it looks like TG-XXXXXX).
